How to choose suitable for your use hydraulic oil filter element

When designing and using a hydraulic system, which or a combination of several filtering methods need to be used should be comprehensively considered according to the type of hydraulic components, working conditions, and costs. In order to facilitate customer design and use, the advantages and disadvantages of different filtration methods of hydraulic filters are summarized as follows for reference:

Hydraulic Oil Filtration:

Advantages:

1. Installed at the pump outlet to directly protect the downstream precision hydraulic components;

2. Relatively less sensitive to pressure drop, so the filter volume can be made smaller.

Disadvantages:

1. The filter is required to withstand high pressure and the price is expensive;

2. The pump is not protected;

3. Control and actuator wear and contaminants are directly returned to the fuel tank.

Oil return filter:

Advantages:

1. The hydraulic system returns to the oil tank after filtering, and the oil in the oil tank is clean;

2. The pressure level is low and the price is offset;

3. Can be inserted into the fuel tank to save space.

Disadvantages:

1. A separate oil filter is required to be protected upstream of the precision hydraulic components;

2. The oil return pulsation is large, which affects the filtration accuracy and makes the filter element easy to damage;

Oil suction filter:

Advantages:

The pump can be directly protected.

Disadvantages:

Affected by the easy suction of the pump, the oil suction filter has a large volume and low filtration accuracy.

Suction return oil filter:

Advantages:

The return oil is directly sucked away after being filtered, the filter utilization rate is high, the system cost is low, and the oil absorption effect is good.

Disadvantages:

The oil is recycled, which requires high system heat dissipation and oil.
